Kawasaki seems to be making changes to its lineup ahead of the EICMA 2024. According to reports, the Japanese bike maker is going to reveal replacements for the Ninja 1000SX and the Versys 1000, which will feature a slightly larger and more powerful engine.

Kawasaki Ninja 1100SX & Versys 1100: What To Expect?
The Ninja 1100SX and the Versys 1100 will be powered by a larger 1099cc, inline-four motor, producing 131bhp and 112.9Nm of torque. This is a big increase for the Versys, and a slight drop for the Ninja. Let me explain; the Ninja 1000SX and the Versys 1000 used a 1043cc mill. While on the Ninja it put out 140bhp and 111Nm of torque, the Versys made do with 118.2bhp and 102Nm. However, the slight drop of power in the Ninja 1100SX will be made up for a slight increase in torque; 112.9Nm at 7600rpm.
Details about the suspension, chassis, and braking hardware remain unknown as of now. However, we do not expect things to change too much on those fronts. Both motorcycles will also continue to feature electronic rider aids.
We can expect the Ninja 1100SX to come with a redesign, and it could be aligned with the rest of the Ninja lineup in terms of design. As for the Versys, it could probably retain the familar design, but with new graphics and other enhancements.
With a global teaser out for October 1, we can expect Kawasaki to bring out more details in the coming weeks, and these motorcycles will also likely be displayed at the EICMA 2024.
As for an India debut, we can expect at least the Ninja 1100SX to be here sooner rather than later, given how the Ninja 500 was launched here a few months after its global debut, while the Z 500 is yet to be seen.
A Z900 replacement also in the cards?
With the 1099cc engine making its debut, this could also make one wonder about the Z series; what about the Z900? Given that the Z500 made its debut at the EICMA 2023, with a completely new design, and it has replaced the Z400, the possibility of a Z 1100 cannot be ruled out.
Verdict
Of late, Kawasaki seems to be making changes to its lineup globally. The new 1099cc engine will replace the 1043cc mill, thus making its motorcycles compliant with the tightening UK emission norms. This will also help the bike maker bring these motorcycles here not long after their global debut. However, do not expect them to be very affordable.
