Kawasaki will launch the Z650RS 50th Anniversary Edition motorcycle in India very soon. The company made the announcement on its social media platform.
Kawasakis Z-series of motorcycles has come a long way since the launch of the Z1 in 1972. Initially, the special edition model was announced for the Z900RS only but was later elaborated to include the Z650RS. The former is not available in India, however, Kawasaki might launch it in the future as well.
Some of the highlights on the 50th Anniversary Z650RS include the red and brown color scheme. This scheme is called, the Candy Diamond Brown, and it came before the Japanese marquee were known for their green color. Also, the red and black color scheme was the most demanded option on most Kawasaki motorcycles, back in those days. Other aesthetic highlights include a Z 50th decal on the fuel tank, and the golden-colored alloy wheels available with the regular bike also seem to have made their way into the anniversary model.

Mechanically, the Z650 will continue with the 649 cc twin-cylinder engine that puts out 67 bhp and 65 Nm of torque. It is built around the lightweight trellis frame, and the body suspends on 41 mm telescopic forks upfront and horizontal back-link with adjustable pre-load with 130 mm of travel at the rear. Braking duties are handled by dual semi-floating 300 mm discs with dual-piston calipers for the front tires and a 270 mm single-disc with a single-piston caliper for the rear wheels. The Z650RS ride comes with quite the tech-assist features like a slipper clutch, dual-channel ABS, dual-throttle assist.
The riding posture of the Z650RS has always been relaxed, and the same continues with the anniversary model as well. Some of the features on the bike include all-LED lighting, and a dual-dial instrument cluster for that retro touch, to name a few.
