The second to base, Prestige variant of the Kia Carens seems to be priced really well at Rs 9.99 lakh and in this article, we find out if the 1.5L petrol is a worthy buy or not. The Prestige variant is offered with front and rear parking sensors, six airbags, ABS with EBD and electronic stability control, all-wheel disc brakes, tyre pressure monitoring system, ISOFIX child-seat mounts, speed-sensing door lock, impact sensing door unlock, high-speed alert system, front seat belt reminder, vehicle stability management, brake-force assist system, hill-start assist control and downhill brake control.
This 1.5L petrol is a four-cylinder, naturally aspirated BS6 compliant engine that generates as much as 113 bhp of power on tap with a peak torque of 144 Nm. This engine is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. There's no automatic transmission available with the 1.5L petrol motor. The ARAI claimed fuel economy of the Kia Carens 1.5L petrol is 16.5 kmpl.
