Kia filed a trademark application for the Carens a few days ago, thus giving us all the reasons to believe that the Korean carmaker is all set to launch its new seven-seater MPV in the Indian market. The Kia Carens will be sharing a lot of parts and components with the Seltos and will be a direct rival to the cars like the Hyundai Alcazar. While there are no official or confirmed reports and details about the specifications and dimensions, here are top five things that you should know about the Kia Carens 7-seater SUV!
Design and Dimension
As mentioned before, the Kia Carens will be based on the Kia Seltos and hence will be sharing a lot of body panels with the Seltos. Likewise, we also expect the car to feature a large tiger-nose grille that will give it an aggressive front fascia. In addition to this, the Kia Carens is expected to get large dual-cut alloy wheels and LED headlamps that will give it a premium look. In addition to this, the Kia Carens is also expected to boast a longer wheelbase when compared to the Seltos. On the features front, we do expect Kia to offer a rear wiper, rear defogger, passive entry request sensor, LED taillights and many other features. A large sunroof too is expected to be offered with the car.

Interiors
The cabin of the Kia Carens, just like the Kia Seltos, is expected to be feature-rich and spacious. The car will feature a three-row seating configuration and is expected to get a six-seat and a seven-seat layout. In the six-seater version, the buyers will get captain seats in the second row while the seven-seater version will get a bench seat in the centre. Furthermore, the fit and finish levels are expected to be impressive while a large sunroof will also be on offer. In addition to this, features like rear ac vents, cooled glovebox, front armrest, spilt folding rear seats, etc are expected to be a standard part of the package. While it is still not confirmed, the car is expected to feature a dual-tone colour combination while the seats too will be comfortable. In all, the cabin of the Carens will definitely be a great place for you and the buyers will appreciate the in-cabin experience offered by the car.

A premium audio system too is expected to be offered to those opting for the higher variants. Engine, Gearbox, and Performance
The Kia Carens 7-Seater SUV is expected to get the same engine options that we see with the Kia Seltos. The Seltos is currently being offered with three engine options that include a 1.5-L diesel, a 1.5-L naturally aspirated petrol, and 1.4-L turbo petrol engine. While the diesel boasts commendable fuel economy figures and impressive performance, the petrol engines on the other hand offer supreme refinement and NVH levels. Performance from these motors too is great and in all, the Kia Carens will definitely boast strong performance. Just like the Seltos, the Kia Carens too is expected to be offered with a manual as well as an automatic gearbox.
