Kia Carens is available with three engine options - 1.5L non-turbo petrol, 1.4L turbo petrol and a 1.5L oil burner. Both the 1.5L petrol and diesel motor generate the same amount of power that is 113 bhp on tap but the peak torque is 144 Nm and 250 Nm respectively.

On the other hand, the turbo petrol engine is the most powerful as it churns out 138 bhp with a peak torque of 242 Nm. A 6-speed manual transmission is observed as standard with all the engines and for the automatic, 1.5L diesel gets a 6-speed torque converter whereas the 1.4L turbo petrol is available with a 7-speed DCT as an option.
