Features- What Kia Seltos Facelift Will Offer Extra?
Without a doubt, all these SUVs offer a features platter. There is no dearth when you talk about the tech on board. From wireless phone projection, to cruise control, tyre pressure monitoring system, big infotainment screen, 6 airbags, ABD with EBD, Hill-decent control, automatic climate control and whatnot. The list is endless. On top of that, safety is pretty solid as well if the features are concerned. But what extra will the Kia Seltos facelift pack?
Firstly, ADAS! Yes, the Kia SUV is coming with Advanced Driver's Assistance System along with a slew of features. It will sport dual screens for infotainment and the instrument cluster, a panoramic sunroof( already on the Grand Vitara and Creta), a new dashboard layout, fresh interiors, and more. The exact feature list is still unknown, but it looks quite promising already.
Powertrain
Although the details are not concrete clear about the engine options on the Kia Seltos facelift, according to some sources, it will most likely continue with the same engine options as before. As a result, we are taking the current engine options of the Kia Seltos for comparison.
DETAILS | Kia Seltos Facelift | Hyundai Creta | Maruti Grand Vitara/ Toyota Hyryder |
Engine | 1.5 L Diesel/ 1.5 L Petrol | 1.5 L Diesel/ 1.5 L Petrol | 1.5 L Smart Hybrid Petrol/ 1.5 L Strong Hybrid Petrol |
Power | 116 PS/ 115 PS | 116 PS/ 115 PS | 103 PS/ 115 PS |
Torque | 250 Nm/ 144 Nm | 250 Nm/ 144 Nm | 136.8 Nm/ 141 Nm |
Both Kia Seltos and the Hyundai Creta come with 1.5 L diesel and 1.5 L petrol engine options. Since Maruti axed the diesel powertrain from its entire line-up back in 2020, a strong hybrid compensates for the same. The Grand Vitara comes with a 1.5 Litre Petrol mild-Hybrid unit and a 1.5 L Petrol with a strong hybrid.
Since we are comparing engines, the strong Hybrid Grand Vitara and the 1.5 L petrol units of both Seltos and Creta produce 115 Ps power and 144 Nm of torque. The grand Vitara slips at the second spot by just 3 Nm at 141. Obviously, diesel engines are known for their torquey nature, Seltos and Creta have 250 Nm of torque.
Additionally, a new 1.5 Litre Turbo petrol unit is on the cards with the Seltos facelift that will churn out 160 PS of power.
VERDICT
Unquestionably, the conquest for the top spot is hot already. On top of that, carmakers are pushing even harder to make their offer a little better than before. Following the same, the Kia Seltos facelift is hitting the showrooms soon. Although the details do look promising, the Hyundai Creta facelift is nearing its launch soon as well to close this gap. But do we have a clear winner now? With one taking the top spot in one segment, it slips down in another one. The debate still seems to have no end.
