Kia Sonet: Engine And Rivals
The new Kia Sonet comes in nine variants: HTE, HTE (O), HTK, HTK (O), HTK+, HTX, HTX+, GTX+, and X-Line. For engines, you have a few choices. There's a 1.2-litre petrol engine that only comes with a 5-speed manual transmission. Then there's a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine, which you can get with either a 7-speed DCT or an iMT. Finally, the 1.5-litre diesel engine offers even more options, with a 6-speed AT, an iMT, and a 6-speed MT.
The Sonet continues to compete with several other compact SUVs, including the Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Mahindra XUV300, Hyundai Venue, and Nissan Magnite. This competition will also include the upcoming facelifted Magnite and more models in this segment.
Verdict
While the hike amounts vary and aren't uniform, which is a positive aspect, these increases might still make some customers feel a bit upset. However, the price hikes aren't significant enough to deter those who are keen on getting a Kia.
