Kia Syros - Now A Certified Safe SUV with 5 Stars In Bharat NCAP

Kia Syros, the latest sub-4 meter SUV by Kia India, has done what Seltos, Sonet, and Carens couldn't do - achieve the perfect 5-star safety rating at Bharat NCAP. Yes, this vehicle has passed the safety test with flying colours, proving to be a secure place for both adults and children. After Skoda Kylaq, Mahindra XUV 3XO, and Tata Nexon, Syros is the latest SUV of the same segment to achieve the 5 star saftey rating. Kia Syros

Under the Bharat New Car Assessment Program (BNCAP), Kia Syros has achieved 5-star rating for Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) and Child Occupant Protection (COP). To add more, in AOP Syros, scored 30.21 out of 32.00 and 44.42 out of 49 for COP. This vehicle has undergone several critical safety tests, including the Offset Deformable Barrier (ODB) Frontal Impact at 63.95 km/h, Mobile Deformable Barrier (MDB) Side Impact Test at 50.17 km/h, and Pole Side Impact at 29.17 km/h.

Adult Occupant Protection (AOP)

Talking about the saftey features available in Syros - it is equipped with over 16 autonomous safety technologies, the vehicle integrates Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS Level 2) and a robust 20 Standard active and passive safety pack. Build on the K1 platform, which is also the base of Hyundai/Kia group cars like Sonet, Venue, i10 NIOS and Exter, for Syros this platform was restrenghen to make this car as sturdy as possible. Also, there is no other car under Rs 10 lakh expect this one, to offer 4 front parking sensors from the base variant itself, along with 4 rear parking sensors.

Child Occupant Protection (COP)

Engine Options

Talking about its engine, it is available with a 1.0L T-GDi petrol mated to either 6-speed manual or 7-DCT. This is the same engine we have seen in Sonet, Venue and i20 N-Line. It produces 120 ps and 172 Nm of torque, and the claimed fuel efficiency is 18.20 kmpl with manual gearbox and 17.68 kmpl with automatic gearbox. Also, there is an option of a 1.5L diesel engine that produces 115 ps and 250 Nm of torque, paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox. The claimed fuel efficiency is 20.75 kmpl with the manual and 17.65 kmpl with the automatic.
