The Mahindra Thar Roxx is generating significant demand in cities throughout India. In New Delhi, Bengaluru, and Mumbai, the waiting period has reached two months, while customers in Pune, Chennai, Jaipur, and Ahmedabad may face waits of up to three months. As online bookings are set to commence on October 3, 2024, this waiting period is anticipated to lengthen even further and might replicate the scenario that previous Mahindra SUVs witnessed.
Dealers have begun unofficially accepting reservations for the full range of Thar Roxx models and powertrain options. The lineup features variants such as the MX1, MX3, MX5, AX3L, AX5L, and AX7L, with prices starting at Rs. 12.99 lakh and going up to Rs. 22.49 lakh. For those interested in the 4x4 versions, which are priced between Rs. 18.79 lakh and Rs. 22.49 lakh, the options include the MX5 with a manual transmission, the AX5L with an automatic transmission, and the AX7L, which offers both manual and automatic gearbox choices. Official bookings will open on October 3 at 11 am.

Engine Options
The Thar Roxx comes with two engine options: a 2.0-liter turbo-petrol and a 2.2-liter diesel. The petrol variant produces 150 hp and 330 Nm of torque in its base manual trims, increasing to 160 hp (with torque remaining at 330 Nm) in higher specifications. The automatic petrol version delivers a robust 175 hp and 380 Nm. On the diesel side, the engine offers 150 hp and 330 Nm in both rear-wheel-drive manual and automatic configurations, while the top-tier four-wheel-drive automatic variant boosts power to 171 hp and torque to 370 Nm.
