Mahindra XUV EXO EV Spied Testing
Mahindra is cooking up an electric version of the XUV 3XO, and from what we can tell, it's going to be pretty much the same size as the regular ICE model keeping it under that crucial 4-meter mark. This is different from the XUV400, which is a bit longer at 4.2 meters, giving it more space at the back and a bigger boot. It looks like the 3XO EV will have a similar-sized boot and rear seats to the standard 3XO.
This upcoming EV has been spotted at a charging up in Rourkela, Odisha, right outside a Tata Motors showroom. It was practically undisguised, just a little bit of camo around the front. Design-wise, it's almost a dead ringer for the ICE 3XO, confirming the speculations. You get the same split headlights with the round projectors and the C-shaped LED daytime running lights. and the aerodynamic alloy wheels, too. Other details we noticed include a shark fin antenna, black roof rails, and matching black outside mirrors, and also, it gets a 360-degree camera system, which is a nice touch.

Battery And Range Details
The Electric XUV 3XO EV is likely to use a 34.5 kWh battery, which is the same size as the one in the base XUV400. It is expected that the range will be somewhere between 350 and 380 km on a single charge. What kind of motor does it have and how much power it will put out? That's still a mystery. Price-wise, it is expected to land somewhere between Rs. 15-17 lakhs, which would make it about Rs. 2 lakhs cheaper than the XUV400.
Verdict
The EV race is on and Mahindra is looking forward to capitalising on the nascent stages of the EV shift. While its sole EV offering XUV400 is doing just decently, the mass appeal of the XUV 3XO will give it the required push. If Mahindra manages to squeeze out more range than the competition, this electric XUV 3XO could really shake things up in the EV market. Combine that with Mahindra's solid reputation for building tough vehicles, and you've got a package that could tick all the boxes for buyers in this segment, and maybe even offer a little something extra.
