The Mahindra XUV400 is gearing up for a rejig of variant nomenclature as per the homologation documents. While it will be getting fresh nomenclature, this is not the only thing being updated. Mahindra XUV400 New Trim Names And Increased Range; A New Battery Pack Incoming
Mahindra's XUV400 lineup currently includes the EC Pro, EL Pro, and the EL Pro variant with an extended battery pack. The upcoming additions to the range include the EC L, EC L (O), EC LL, EL LL (O), EL LH, EL LH (O), EL PH, and EL PH (O) nomenclature. Three battery options will be available: a 39.4kWh unit providing a 456km range (current), a 34.43kWh battery offering a 402km range (+27km), and a new 39.4kWh battery with different cells delivering a range of 444km. The power output across all battery variants remains steady at 150hp, with torque likely to stay at 310Nm. Any potential mechanical modifications or additional features are yet to be revealed.
Mahindra XUV400 Facelift Based On XUV 3XO Soon?
The updated nomenclature and adding new variants could very well mean a facelift based on the recently launched Mahindra XUV 3XO. Since the current version is based on the XUV300, this EV getting updated is the only reasonable option. However, as always, you can expect various EV-specific tweaks like the shut-off grille, different alloy designs for reduced air drag, a possible frunk, and more. However, there is no concrete info on the whens and whats.

Mahindra XUV400: Price & Competition
The Mahindra XUV400 is priced between Rs 15.49 lakh and Rs 17.49 lakh (ex-showroom). It rivals other EV SUVs like the Tata Nexon EV, MG ZS EV, and more.
Verdict
The Mahindra XUV400 is the sole offering from the indegenous brand in the EV space at the moment. For the same reason, it keeps on getting updates and refreshes to keep up with the evolving market demands. In order to keep its market share, the facelift of this EV SUV can be expected sooner than earlier anticipated.
