Upcoming Maruti Dzire Facelift: Getting Stylish And
The upcoming India-specific Swift and Dzire will set themselves apart from their global counterparts with distinct design elements. While they'll likely share some underlying architecture, expect the Dzire to receive a more differentiating makeover. This could include a restyled rear end, unique bumpers, and potentially different alloy wheels and headlights. Maruti Suzuki has a history of progressively differentiating the styling of the Swift and Dzire with each generation, and this trend is likely to continue. The result will be two cars with a shared foundation but unique personalities.
Maruti is likely to adopt the familiar dashboard layout from Swift, which has been the norm for past iterations. However, to give the Dzire a distinct feel from its hatchback sibling, Maruti might add some exclusive features. Spy shots in the past have already revealed a potential segment-first feature - a single-pane sunroof. Maruti could also be considering other upgrades like a 360-degree camera, wireless charger, and a few other add-ons to enhance the Dzire's appeal in the competitive sedan segment. You will get the same bigger infotainment touchscreen, auto AC, all-power windows, and more.
Powertrain: New Z-Series Engine With Mild-Hybrid
The new Dzire ditches the K-series engine for a modern heart. Borrowing from the Swift, it will adopt the new 1.2-liter, three-cylinder Z series engine. Maruti has given this engine an India-specific makeover, prioritizing emissions, efficiency, and power output to meet local driving needs. Meanwhile, the familiar 5-speed manual and AMT gearboxes will continue.
Expected Launch
The upcoming Maruti Dzire is expected to debut in the second half of 2024, in and around the festive season. However, the pricing will see an uptick while it continues to rival the Hyundai Aura, Tata Tigor, and also face the upcoming Honda Amaze facelift.
Verdict
What the rumour mill suggest if true, then it would be a wlcome move from the brand. It always pays to have a disctinct identity than just a stretched out version of the hatchback. Not only this, the feature bump will prove to be a big booster to the already segemnt-leading sedan to get an even more extra edge.
