Adding to the electric two-wheeler segment of India, Matter has started accepting bookings for its first product. The 2023 Matter Aera electric bike is now available for a starting price of Rs 1,43,999 only. It is going to be available in four different variants. Read all of its details below. Matter Aera - What's Special In It?
The Aera is based on ICE naked sports bikes. A glimpse of it might look identical to the current KTM Duke 390. However, a lot is different from the ICE sports bikes. It is the first electric bike in India that features a 4-speed transmission. Its sharp looks and design will surely appeal to young buyers a lot. Additionally, it gets split seats, aggressive sharp panels, & clip-on handlebars for sporty looks. Meanwhile, Matter has enriched it with the latest features. It gets LED lights, a TFT colour display, Bluetooth connectivity, & multiple riding modes as well.
Matter is offering Aera in four different variants. These include - 4000, 5000, 5000+, & 6000. For now, only the 5000 & 5000+ have been launched for Rs 1.44 lakh & Rs 1.54 lakh respectively (including Fame II subsidy). Also, only the details of these two variants are out for now. Matter uses a 5kWh liquid-cooled Li-ion battery pack on it. It is powered by a 10kW electric motor that helps it in achieving a claimed riding range of 125 km/charge. This battery pack can be fully charged via a regular charging option in 5 hours. Meanwhile, fast charging can completely charge it in just 2 hours.
Flipkart & OTO Collaboration With Matter
Additionally, Matter has collaborated with the Flipkart e-commerce website to sell the bike. Currently, Flipkart will sell the Aera e-bike in 25 districts. This number is expected to expand in the coming months. Meanwhile, Matter has also shaken hands with the OTO financing platform to provide finance solutions and options to its customers.
Bharat Kumar BS, Director Category Head Electronics Devices & Automobiles, Flipkart, said, We are excited that our customers across 25 districts across India covering over 2,000 PIN codes will be able to pre-book and eventually buy the Matter Aera motorcycle on Flipkart while having access to the special offers and benefits.
Verdict
The Aera e-bike looks promising. Its solid build quality and conventional transmission option are surely going to attract new customers. Additionally, the JV with Flipkart & OTO will help in boosting sales. For now, it will compete with the segment rivals that include - Revolt RV 400, Tork Kratos, Oben Rorr, & HOP OXO.
