The Matter Aera, the first geared electric motorcycle in India, is launched in India at Rs. 1.44 lakh (ex-showroom). The motorcycle is available in two models, the 5000 and 5000+, with respective starting prices of Rs. 1.44 lakh and Rs. 1.54 lakh (ex-showroom). Both versions use the same battery pack and have a 125 km range. The Aera will soon be available in two further variants called 4000 and 6000+ from the brand. Four dual-tone colours will be available for the motorcycle: Grey & Neon, Blue & Gold, Black & Gold, and Red & Black & White.

Matter Aera Electric Bike Details
Matter Aera includes certain segment-leading features and a minimalistic style. Both versions come with a 5 kWh battery pack. It's also the first electric motorcycle in India with a 4-speed gearbox. With the battery and 10 kW motor, it has a 125 km claimed range. According to Matter, using a standard charger arrangement, the battery of the Aera 5000 can be fully charged in five hours. The charging process takes two hours with a fast charger. It is a practical electric motorcycle with characteristics including an alloy wheel arrangement, clip-on handlebar, LED headlamp, split seat, and other design elements. It looks futuristic thanks to the LED turn indicators on the fuel tank shroud with auto cancelling feature.
It has a 7-inch TFT touchscreen for the instrument panel, which displays a wealth of information including navigation, SMS/call alerts, and other functions. Also, it receives OTA updates, proximity key functionality, keyless start and go, and other features. Single disc brakes on the front and rear wheels, along with ABS and CBS, are used for braking.

The battery pack and e-bike are covered by a three year warranty from Matter. Mattery Energy will soon launch its first experience centre in Ahmedabad. Four dual-tone colours will be available for the motorcycle: Grey & Neon, Blue & Gold, Black & Gold, and Red & Black & White.
Verdict: The recently released Matter Aera 5000 will face competition from India's already popular electric motorcycles. It competes against products like Oben Rorr, Hop OXO, Tork Kratos, Revolt RV400, and others. The Matter Aera will have an advantage over the competition due to its segment-leading features.
