Volkswagen Vento has around been for a decade in the Indian markets right now and we have seen several of its facelifts. Well, the car looks more or less the same still. What's the highlight is the exclusion of a bigger 1.6L oil burner for a 1.5L one. It is the latter which makes more power and is mod-friendly. Sharing details on this modified whip, then it now produces 148 bhp with a peak torque of 350 Nm. The torque is similar to that found in Jeep Compass, Tata Harrier and MG Hector. One look at this Vento and you will confuse it with a regular sedan. It is only when it pulls and pulls and you realise it is a sleeper in its heart.

This modified Vento has been done from Code6Coimbatore and now gets a custom ECU tune. To further increase the performance and make it sound nice, it gets a custom stainless steel decat downpipe. Furthermore, to make the looks aesthetic, it gets cobra progressive lowering springs. Wonder, what is the ground clearance now.
To further reduce the vibration of the Vento and keep it quiet it receives front strut mounts from Genting performance. It also gets Brembo drilled rotors with EBC Yellow stuff brake pads. Also, the BMC Intake filter allows more air to pass to further increase the performance. However, if you are thinking to replace your stock filter with an aftermarket one, make sure you are not living in Delhi. You will have to change it again and again because of the higher pollution levels in the city.

Now, this Vento is in its true sleeper form as even the alloys do not get any junky aftermarket design. It gets 16-inch Volkswagen's GTI Salvador rims which are wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 4 ST Rubber. At the front, it gets a Morimoto D2S 5.0 projector retrofit.
That was all about this modified Vento. Volkswagen pulled the plug from the diesel engine this year only before the BS6 norms hit the market. Now, Vento comes in a single 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine. This one is a three-cylinder unit which makes 109 bhp with 175 Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to a 6-speed stick shift or a 6-speed torque converter unit.
