Ola Electric MoveOS 3 Update: Details
The announcement of the upcoming latest OS update was made during the festive season. For reference, this will be the third update from Ola Electric in a time span of 1 year. The current firmware used in the all-electric two-wheelers i.e. MoveOS 2 was introduced in the month of August 2022. The CEO informed the same via a tweet and also revealed that the update will start rolling out from next week onwards for all the users via the OTA route.
Ola Electric MoveOS 3 Update: What's New? and Features
Initially introduced as a Beta update for the users of the S1 electric scooter, the MoveOS features a host of new features that promise to make the electric two-wheeler 'feature-heavy and future-ready. Some of the stand-out features of the latest OS include Party Mode, Moods, Proximity Unlock and compatibility with Ola's Hypercharging network.
The highlight, of course, is the 'Proximity Unlock' feature which lets the user lock/ unlock the electric scooter from a distance, much like the keyless entry functionality in cars. This implies that the user doesn't need to manually lock/unlock the e-scooter, which makes the overall experience smooth and hassle-free. The profile-sharing feature will add the option to induce multiple user profiles with separate passwords, this essentially means that you will no longer need to share your password with anyone else. The 'Party Mode' is a cool new addition to MoveOS 3, which makes the two-wheeler's lighting setup work in symphony with the music played using its speakers. A dedicated 'Vacation Mode' is also a part of the package which assists in conserving the battery in case of non-usability for up to 200 days.
Verdict: The MoveOS 3 will be a huge step up in terms of features as well as usability as compared to the existing firmware. Some of the useful additions like the proximity unlock will add a lot of weight to the enhanced user experience. This update will also bring some improvements to the power delivery as well as charging time that might result in better efficiency.
