1. Roadster, Roadster X, And The Roadster Pro

Turning heads at the event, the Ola Electric launched not 1, not 2, but a total of 3 motorcycles namely the Ola Roadster X, Ola Roadster, and the Roadster Pro, with the last one being its flagship product. While the design is something out of a sci-fi movie, the bikes look like how you would expect a nimble futuristic electric to be. But what about the range? Let me take you through it as well in the next point.

2. Big On Range

At Olas launch event, the company revealed the performance specifications for their Roadster lineup. The Roadster X delivers a peak power output of 11kW, while the standard Roadster offers 13kW. The top-of-the-line Roadster Pro stands out with a substantial 52kW peak power and 105Nm of torque. In terms of range, the Roadster X is claimed to reach up to 200km, the Roadster is estimated at 248km, and the Roadster Pros high-end variant is expected to achieve an impressive IDC range of 579km, which is a massive jump and will prove to be the biggest selling point.

3. Big On Features

The Roadster X is equipped with three riding modes: sports, normal, and eco. These modes can be easily accessed via a 4.3-inch LCD display powered by MoveOS 5. Additional features include Ola Maps Navigation with turn-by-turn directions, advanced regenerative braking, cruise control, a DIY Mode, TPMS alerts, OTA updates, digital key unlock, and connectivity with the Ola Electric App. In contrast, the Roadster offers four riding modes: Hyper, sports, normal, and eco, all managed through a 6.8-inch TFT touchscreen. It includes a range of smart features such as proximity unlock, cruise control, party mode, tamper alerts, Krutrim Assistant, a smartwatch app, and a road trip planner, and more.

The Roadster Pro enhances the feature set with a new 10-inch TFT touchscreen display and supports four primary ride modes: Hyper, Sport, Normal, and Eco, plus two customizable modes. Looking ahead, the MoveOS 5 update will introduce advanced features such as three-step traction control, anti-wheelie technology, geofencing, and ADAS.

4. Pricing

The Roadster X comes with a choice of three battery capacities: 2.5kWh, 3.5kWh, and 4.5kWh, priced at Rs. 74,999, Rs. 84,999, and Rs. 99,999 ex-showroom respectively. Additionally, the Roadster offers three battery options3kWh, 4.5kWh, and 6kWhwith corresponding prices of Rs. 1,04,999, Rs. 1,19,999, and Rs. 1,39,999 ex-showroom. The Ola Roadster Pro, which is the flagship model, comes in two variants: an 8kWh model priced at Rs 2 lakh ex-showroom and a 16kWh model priced at Rs 2.5 lakh ex-showroom.

5. Delivery Schedules And Booking Status

While the Roadster and the Roadster X will be rolling off for delivery in the first half of 2025, the Roadster Pro is set for delivery in the first half of 2025. However, the bookings for all three models are open from today via the official website of Ola.

Verdict

These latest launched by Ola marks its venture into the E-bike space, which is yet to see any significant breakthrough in the market. While Torq and Ultraviolette already have their electric bikes out there, a mass adoption is not visible. However, I expect, with everything that was revealed at the launch event, that Ola could very well replicate what it did with its electric scooters, which is a helping to finally give this segment, the essential push with a brand name that is already a household name.
