Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 Details
Speaking of the details, the Super Meteor is going to be a cruiser bike. Yes, it is based on the Interceptor 650 but it uses a completely different platform. Meanwhile, we have seen its design via the multiple spy shots on the internet. The low-slung cruiser will use a laid-back and relaxed riding posture. Additionally, the Super Meteor 650 will use a new chassis and different mechanicals such as the USD front suspension.
We also think that Super Meteor will come in different variants. This will be something similar to what we saw with the Royal Enfield Hunter 350. Hence, we expect that there will be an urban variant as well as an optional accessory pack for highway riding variants. However, the mechanical parts on all of the variants shall remain the same. The Super Meteor 650 is also expected to feature the latest tech like a semi-digital instrument panel, Bluetooth connectivity, USB phone charging point, etc. Additionally, it will feature alloy wheels, a large windscreen, etc., as options.
Engine & Specifications
The engine is most likely to remain the same as the one on the Continental GT 650. The 648cc, parallel-twin, oil-cooled engine makes a peak power of 47 bhp & 52 Nm of peak torque. However, we suspect the change in gear ratios of the 6-speed transmission. This might be done to adjust to the increased weight and changed body dimensions.
Verdict
Finally, after more than a year and a half since it was spied on for the first time; Super Meteor is reaching near to debut. However, it is going to be at least a couple of thousands pricey than the current 650 twins. We expect a pricing of Rs 3 lakh or above once it is launched. Royal Enfield is most likely to debut it at the upcoming EICMA in November. Its following launch might take place at the 2022 Rider Maina.
