Automotive manufacturers are surely finding it difficult to keep up with the manufacturing costs due to increase in input capital, labour and many other factors. Eventually, at a particular stage, this expense is diverted to the customer's pocket either in terms of price hikes or feature omission and Skoda Autos is no different. The Skoda Kushaq Ambition variant would now feature a Manual AC instead of an Auto Climatronic AC technology. Here are all the details regarding the Skoda Kushaq Ambition features updates.
Due to the infamous hit of silicon shortage prevailing in the entire automotive industry, Skoda Autos had to delete some features like the automatic ORVMs in all the trims of Kushaq. This was a move to avoid long queues for potential customers to get their hands behind the Kushaq's wheel. Similarly, Skoda had to omit automatic climate control in the Kushaq Ambition trim.
The base variant of the Skoda Kushaq was equipped with a manual AC but without a rear defogger. The ambition variant gets a similar layout for the manual air conditioning unit and a small physical button for the rear defogger located to the right of the blower speed rotary dial.
Skoda Kushaq Ambition is the mid-spec trim and is decently equipped in terms of the bells and whistles, but automatic climate control deletion can be a dealbreaker for some potential buyers. Earlier, when Skoda and Volkswagen together removed the automatically foldable ORVMs from the stalemates Kushaq and Taigun, the brands offered a decent discount of Rs. 20,000/-. Therefore, it is expected that Skoda will now offer a decent cut again on the vehicle's price.
As per Skoda's focus on their new platform, MQB-A0 IN, the Kushaq is a compact SUV developed in India for the Indian road and climate conditions. It was launched in June 2021 and was offered with two engine options, the previously available 1.0 Litre TSI brought from the Rapid, Polo and Vento which put out 113 BHP of peak power and 178 Nm of torque, and the mighty 1.5 Litre TSI which is highly popular among the enthusiasts for its performance with 148 BHP of peak power and 250 Nm of torque. The C-SUV is available with a 6-speed manual, 6-speed torque convertor and 7 speed DSG transmission options across the portfolio.
