Skoda Kushaq, Slavia Anniversary Edition Launch In 2025

Skoda's quarter-century presence in the Indian automotive landscape, initiated in 2000, aligns this year with the marque's global 130th anniversary. To commemorate these milestones, Skoda India, under the direction of Brand Director Petr Janeba, has confirmed the release of special edition Kushaq and Slavia models. These '25th Anniversary Editions' are anticipated to feature subtle, yet distinctive, exterior enhancements, including exclusive badging and potentially, a refined palette of color options. The Skoda Kushaq and Slavia present a choice of two distinct petrol powertrains: a 1.0L Turbo Petrol engine delivering 115PS of power and 178Nm of torque, available with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission or a more robust 1.5L turbo petrol engine, generating 150PS of power and 250Nm of torque, paired with a 7-speed DSG transmission. This selection allows customers to opt for either efficiency or performance, depending on their aspirations from the car.
Skoda Octavia Diesel To Make India Re-Entry

Skoda is set to reintroduce the fourth-generation Octavia, codenamed NX, to the Indian market following its earlier discontinuation. This forthcoming model, a facelift of the 2021 iteration, will distinguish itself by offering a 2.0-liter diesel powertrain, producing 149 hp power and 360 Nm of torque, coupled with a seven-speed DSG transmission. Notably, this vehicle will be imported as a completely built unit (CBU), which will likely position its pricing above 35 lakh rupees.
Verdict
The Skoda India's 25th Anniversary Edition will infuse a new feel to the now settled models and bring them back in the limelight. However, the enthusiast circle is eying the launch of the Skoda Octavia in its diesel guise, something that will help push the brands sales to a higher number. Although the CBU unit will comand a higher premium than what's reasonable, its the diesel re-introduction that will overall benefit Skoda if it debuts with its more affordable models in the portfolio.
