Tata Curvv Launch Timeline: Expected Launch Around Festive Season!
Initially, Tata Motors planned to commence production of the Curvv EV in the first quarter of CY2024, targeting a mid-2024 launch. However, due to the delay, the model is now anticipated to hit the roads around the festive season. Following this, production of the petrol and diesel variants is expected to commence around September, with their launch slated for either the last quarter of 2024 or early 2025.
Tata Motors' strategy involves prioritizing the electric variant of the Curvv, aiming to secure a prior advantage in the midsize SUV segment, a strategy previously successful with models like the Nexon EV and Punch EV. While the reasons for the same could not be confirmed, it can most likely be a chain effect of ongoing elections that generally slow down auto sales. Moreover, Tata could be reinforcing its production line and keeping the flow streamlined for a lower waiting period.

Tata Curvv Powertrain: EV First ICE Second
The Curvv lineup promises a variety of engine choices for varied preferences. Leading the pack is the EV variant, boasting an impressive range of approximately 500 kilometers on a single charge. However, for those seeking a fossil fuel-powered alternative, Tata will also offer an internal combustion engine (ICE) option for the Curvv. This variant will feature a brand-new 1.2-liter turbocharged petrol engine, delivering a robust performance of 125 horsepower and 225 Nm of torque. Tata may opt to pair this engine with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox, similar to the setup found in the latest Nexon facelift.
It is important to note that the EV will launch first, followed by the ICE-powered variants at a later stage.
