Triumph Speed T4; Prices Drop Down To Rs 1.98 Lakh
The British bikemaker launched the Speed T4 earlier this year, with prices beginning from Rs 2.17 lakh (ex-showroom). However, Triumph decided to give us all a rather welcome surprise, making the Speed T4 more affordable by Rs 18,000. Depending on which state you live in, the new Speed T4 can now be had with prices starting from Rs 1.98 lakh (ex-showroom).
The Speed T4 is essentially is an entry-level motorcycle, with a different, more laid-back approach, as it produces slightly lesser power. It also makes use of simpler equipment as well. The 398cc, liquid-cooled, powertrain produces 31bhp at 7,000rpm and 36Nm at 5,000rpm, which is 7bhp and 1.5Nm lesser than what we see on the Speed 400.
In terms of hardware, the Speed T4 comes with conventional telescopic forks instead of the USDs on the Speed 400, along with a revised chain sprocket, MRF Zapper tyres on both ends, and non-adjustable levers. Unlike the Speed 400, the Speed T4 does not get traction control as a standard feature.

Verdict
With a Rs 18,000 price drop, the Speed T4 has definitely become a more attractive proposition than before, especially considering that it offers the Triumph nametag at a shockingly affordable price. In fact, we won't be surprised if this move helps it eat up the Hero Mavrick, or even the Pulsar NS400Z's market share.
