Honda BigWing most expensive motorcycle, the Gold Wing GL1800, produced between March 2018 and May 2021, has been recalled in India due to a drive gear fastening bolt issue identified in certain Gold Wing engines.
This touring bike, priced at Rs 39.77 lakh ex-showroom, reaches up to Rs 46 lakh on-road after taxes, making it one of the most expensive bikes sold in India. Honda Gold Wing GL1800
A drive gear fastening bolt, which is an integral part of any two-wheeler engine, plays a crucial role in smoothly transferring power from the engine to the gears, while also securely holding the gear in place. Honda has identified an issue with this mechanical part, and according to them, it may break in the future, potentially causing engine seizure.
Now, the automaker has recalled models produced between March 2018 and May 2021, and they will replace the affected part free of cost, even if the bike is out of warranty. Additionally, Gold Wing owners can check their vehicle information by entering the VIN number on the BigWing website.

The bike length is 2,615 mm, with a wheelbase of 1,695 mm. As for features, it includes airbags, cruise control with riding modes, navigation with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with a large digital screen.

Verdict
This motorcycle is in a different league, and people who own it usually have several other bikes. The touring bike concept is quite niche in India, as not only is it expensive, but the weather conditions here also make it less practical. That said, great work by Honda for addressing this issue.
