Toyota Innova Crysta Waiting Time

Toyota Innova

The Toyota Innova Crysta, for the month of July 2024, commands a waiting period of around 5 months, which is the highest amongst Toyota diesel cars. This has a lot to do with its exceptional ride quality and can traverse long distances and extended hours, without causing much fatigue. Due to this, it has been one of the top choices in the country in the family MPV segment. It's 2.4L diesel mill churns out a solid 150 PS power with a peak torque of 343 Nm that makes it a breeze to pull the fully loaded Crysta.

The vehicle offers an 8-inch touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, automatic climate control with rear AC vents, an 8-way power-adjustable driver's seat, a smartphone holder with USB port, ambient lighting, and safety features like seven airbags, front and rear parking sensors, ABS with EBD, VSC, hill-start assist, and brake assist.

Toyota Hilux

The Toyota Hilux, derived from the Fortuner platform, currently has a waiting period of approximately one month. It features a robust 2.8-litre turbo-diesel engine paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission, delivering 204 PS and 420 Nm or 500 Nm of torque, respectively. Pricing for this Toyota pickup ranges from Rs 30.40 lakh to Rs 37.90 lakh. Internationally, the Hilux facelift has been introduced with feature upgrades along with a new mild hybrid engine set-up, However, there is still some time left until it gets introduced in the Indian market.

Toyota Fortuner

The Toyota Fortuner SUV currently commands a waiting period of about 2 months, which is also less than the Toyota Innova Cryst. It shares the same 2.8-litre turbo-diesel engine as the Hilux, producing 204 PS and up to 500 Nm of torque, paired with either a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission. The Fortuner's price starts from Rs 33.43 lakh and goes up to Rs 51.44 lakh, while the Fortuner Legender variant is priced between Rs 43.66 lakh and Rs 47.64 lakh.

The Fortuner now comes with a 48V mild-hybrid tech internatioanlly.  This adds 16 PS and 42 Nm on top of the existing 204 PS and 500 Nm. It now claims a milage of 13.15kmpl, which is higher than the earlier 12.66 kmpl on the non-hybrid version. It is expected to hit Indian shores by first half of 2025.

Verdict

The Toyota diesel cars commanding a maximum waiting period of 5 months is still acceptable, keeping in mind the timelien of the top-spec Innova Hycross hybrid that has exceeded the one year mark. If we give the Crysta a pass for now, other 2 models are still rolling out quiker than a lot of models currently available in the country.
