The bookings for the upcoming 2022 Jeep Meridian will commence from May 1st and the 7-seater SUV will be launched in June. The test drives too will be available once the booking starts. Once launched, the 2022 Jeep Meridian will rival Toyota Fortuner, MG Gloster and Skoda Kodiaq.
Powering the Meridian is the same 2.0-litre, four-cylinder, turbocharged diesel engine. This unit generates as much as 168 bhp of power on tap with a peak torque of 350 Nm. This powerful engine will be mated to a 6-speed manual and an optional 9-speed automatic transmission. The top speed is limited to 198 kmph.

Feature-wise, the Meridian is equipped with a panoramic sunroof, a larger 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Powered front seats with ventilation, a 9-speaker Alpine sound system, a powered tailgate, wireless charger, 360-degree camera, multizone climate control and more will be on offer.
Safety features on the Jeep Meridian include as many as seven airbags, traction control, hill hold control, hill descent control, electronic stability control and more. Other safety equipment like ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, a high-speed alert system, front seat belt reminder will follow. We can also expect ADAS with the top of the line variants of the Meridian.
When compared with the mighty Toyota Fortuner, Meridian gets a bigger wheelbase and is marginally wider. Design-wise, the Meridian gets some inspiration from the Compass and features the 7-slat signature grille, all-LED headlights with integrated LED daytime running light, a sharper bumper design and more.
