Innova Hycross Gets AVAS

Toyota Kirloskar Motor has updated the Innova Hycross with AVAS. It is only offered with the hybrid variants: VX, VX (O), ZX, and ZX (O). The AVAS Acoustic Vehicle Alert System is a feature commonly used in EVs. It used to make acoustic alerts up to a certain speed to alert the pedestrians about the car's presence. This feature helps to avert the accidents due to the Innova Hycross being so silent on the electric motor.
What's on offer?

Being a premium MPV, it boasts a plethora of features. Some of the prominent features include a 10.1-inch infotainment system, along with 9 JBL speakers, and a large TFT instrument cluster. Additionally, it has a panoramic sunroof, auto headlamps, powered 2nd row seats, front ventilated seats along with dual zone climate control. When it comes to safety, it offers six airbags, ABS with EBD, ESC, electronic parking brake with auto hold, 360-degree camera and hill start assist.

At the heart, the Innova Hycross has a self-charging strong hybrid battery with TNGA, a 2.0-Litre Engine. This setup together delivers 183 PS of power and 188 Nm of torque. While the non-hybrid variant belts out 172.99 bhp and 209 Nm of torque. The Toyota Innova Hycross is available at a price tag of Rs 19.94 lakh (ex-showroom). While it goes up to Rs 31.34 lakh (ex-showroom) for the top spec ZX. It rivals the Tata Safari, Mahindra XUV 700, Mahindra Scorpio N and Hyundai Alcazar.

With the growing trend towards pedestrian safety, features like AVAS have become prominent in Electric cars.
