TVS has finally launched the much awaited Ronin 225 retro cruiser in India. There are three versions to pick from and the bike is priced between Rs 1.49 lakh - 1.68 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi. It is powered by a 225cc engine that develops 20.4 PS of power. We will be riding the bike in Goa over the weekend and will be sharing our detailed review on our Youtube channel.
Prices for the bike are as follows (ex-showroom Delhi)
TVS Ronin 225 Single Tone Single Channel ABS : Rs 1,49,000
TVS Ronin 225 Dual Tone Single Channel ABS : Rs 1,56,500
TVS Ronin 225 Dual Tone Dual Channel ABS : Rs 1,68,750
The bike has unique styling and competes with models like the Bajaj Avenger, Dominar 250 and even the Royal Enfield 350 to an extent. The Ronin takes ample design cues from the Zeppelin concept cruiser showcased several years back at the Auto Expo. The front is dominated by golden USD forks, 'T' shape DRL inside the headlight and dual purpose tyres. Side profile is also muscular, thanks to the tank design and engine casing on the lower side. The upswept exhaust adds a touch of sportiness. The rear however is subjective and might not go down well with all buyers.
Commenting on the launch, Mr. Sudarshan Venu, Managing Director, TVS Motor Company, said, The launch of the new TVS RONIN is a significant milestone for TVS Motor. The TVS RONIN motorcycle is designed from a blank canvas to be a reflection of the spontaneous, fluidic, versatile and multi-faceted young rider of today. It is designed to create an effortless and unscripted riding experience. True to the TVS brand it has cutting edge technology and connectivity. TVS Ronin is a lifestyle partner complete with an exclusive range of merchandise and accessories, a riding community, and an effortless customisation process.
We also like the large, well padded seat - this should come handy during longer rides. I did swing my leg over for a quick ergonomic check and was pretty happy with it. The bike supports Bluetooth connectivity and the functions are displayed in the round digital console. Feature wise, the bike is sufficiently loaded - adjustable levers, USD forks, dual channel ABS (with two modes), dual purpose tyres et al. There are official accessories as well as merchandise available as well.
Stay tuned as we ride the bike down here in Goa in the rains and come back to you with our review this Monday!
