Ather Rizta Electric Scooter - What Will It Look Like?
The latest teaser images show to us that the Rizta is a complete family scooter. Not to mention, Ather officials have already revealed its seat size and design. The seat itself is bigger than the conventional scooters like the Honda Activa. The camouflaged scooter image hints that it will look like a bulky ICE scooter. The side profile also shows that it'll get an LED headlight, alloy wheels, and disc brakes.
With the Rizta, Ather aims to cater for demand among family scooter buyers. A lot of these buyers have plunged to TVS iQube due to its bigger size, comfortable ride, and road presence. The Rizta will be substantially bigger than the Ather 450X series.
Another detail is the partially visible bigger instrument console screen. Now this might be a simple LCD but it'll definitely get Bluetooth connectivity for phones and other features like ride modes, etc. The wide footboard and bigger pillion grab handle are designed for convenience and everyday usability.
Battery Range, Price, and Launch Date
For now, there are no official details available about the battery pack and the electric motor to be offered on it. But, we suspect that Ather might use the 450S battery pack in a slightly detuned format. The aim is to achieve a good range, probably somewhere around 100 km per charge.
Pricing will be a key factor for the Rizta. While it looks promising, Ather is not going to compromise on its quality levels. Hence, it can be positioned around Rs 1.30 lakh as per our anticipations. Ather might debut the Rizta around June or even before.
Verdict
Ather's presence in the Indian market has grown substantially over time. The customers love the performance and build quality of the 450 series. Now, Ather needs to expand it portfolio and what better could be other than a family scooter to do so? More details about Rizta will be revealed soon, until then stay tuned to 91Wheels.
