Hero is silently testing new small-capacity naked sports bikes. The upcoming Xtreme 125R was spied on recently on a test around CIT, Japiur. Now, two test bikes which are suspected to be the Hero Xtreme 200R 4V & 125R, have been spotted together. Hero Xtreme 125R - Details
As visible in the spy images, there are two test mules parked underneath a shade. While one is a bigger 200R, the sleekier one indicates the 125cc Xtreme unit. In fact, Hero has officially announced that a 125cc Xtreme is under development and it'll debut soon. Meanwhile, the test bike is covered completely but the body panels and front design are evident. The headlight & cowl of it looks inspired by Ducati Streetfighter. Similarly, it gets a split seat with split grab rails & an upright set tail section design. The 125cc engine is likely to be carried forward from the Glamour itself. However, Hero will re-tune it to offer an aggressive performance to the buyers. We suspect that Hero will equip it with Xtec features as well as LED lights.
Hero Xtreme 200R 4V - Details
Parked aside from the 125R, is the bigger 200R 4V test bike. It is clearly evident that the size & dimensions of it will be bigger. The photos reveal that its design will also be different from the 160R. The LED headlight with an X-shaped LED DRL is clearly visible. It gets a small cowl around the headlight. But, the big fuel tank and extensions on it along with a fat front tyres; make for a butch outlook. Additionally, it'll use the engine & hardware from the Xpulse 200 ADV as well as the Xpulse 200T. Hence, the same powerplant that develops 19 bhp of power shall be used on the 200R as well. Meanwhile, the Xtec-connected features will also make way on it.
Verdict
Hero recently introduced the Xtreme 160R 4V with some radical and rigorous changes. The new Xtreme 160R has received good response from the audience and buyers. Hence, developing a new range of Xtreme naked sports bike is a more sensible decision for Hero. The recent launch of Harley-Davidson X440 has also uplifted the brand image of Hero globally.
