Honda Dio 125 Old Vs New: Price Hike

The first thing you will notice is the pricing. The 2025 Dio 125 starts at Rs. 96,749 and goes up to Rs. 1,02,144 (ex-sh), depending on the variant. That's a solid jump of around Rs. 8,000-9,000 over the older version, which ranged from Rs. 87,851 to Rs. 93,750. While the price hike is noticeable, Honda seems to justify it with added tech and regulatory updates.

Unlike the older Dio 125, which was available in four trims, including special 3d emblem versions, the new 2025 model keeps it simple with just two options: Standard and H-Smart. This trimmed-down lineup helps streamline buyers' choices and removes confusion over cosmetic add-ons.

Same Engine, But with OBD-2B Compliance

The scooter's 123.92cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine powers it. However, it's now compliant with the stricter OBD-2B emission norms. Theres a very minor bump in performance - it now delivers 8.3ps and 10.5Nm, up by just 0.02ps and 0.1Nm. Features like idle start-stop and silent start remain, continuing to make it efficient and city-friendly.

Big Win in the Features Department

This is where the 2025 Dio 125 sets itself apart. The top highlight is a brand-new 4.2-inch TFT digital instrument cluster with Bluetooth support. Riders now get turn-by-turn navigation, call/message alerts, and a USB Type-C charging port. The H-Smart variant also retains the keyless ignition system, making the scooter more premium.

In contrast, the older model made do with a simpler LCD display. While it showed essentials like real-time mileage, DTE (distance to empty), and average fuel consumption, it lacked the connected features of the 2025 version.

Honda Dio 125 Old Vs New: Same DNA, New Skin

Honda hasn't changed the Dio 125's sporty silhouette, which is great because the design is already well-loved. What's new are the colours and graphics. The 2025 Dio comes in five fresh shades, giving it a more modern vibe. Though the previous model offered a broader palette with eight colours, the new ones look more refined and premium.

Verdict

The 2025 Honda Dio 125 doesn't reinvent the wheel, but it does smartly evolve the scooter into a more tech-savvy and regulation-ready machine. The addition of a TFT screen and Bluetooth connectivity is a big win for urban riders, even if it comes with a steeper price tag.

If you value the latest tech and cleaner emissions in your daily ride, the new Dio 125 makes a compelling case. But if you are content with basic functionality and want to save a few bucks, the older version still holds its ground.
