Triumph 400cc Cafe Racer Details

Design-wise, the upcoming Triumph 400cc cafe racer takes inspiration from the bigger Speed 1200 RR, with its half-fairing and round headlight. Similar to the Speed 400 and the Scrambler 400 X, the cafe racer also features an X-shaped element within its headlamp. We can expect the bike to feature clip-on handlebars and slightly rear-set footpegs for a more committed riding position.

We already know the cafe racer is based on the Speed 400, and there will be plenty of components shared between the two motorcycles. The 399cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder powertrain could likely be in a slightly altered state of tune to suit the nature of a cafe racer. The 43mm USD forks and the pre-load adjustable monoshock will be carried over, along with the 300mm front and 230mm rear disc.

The upcoming Triumph cafe racer will also feature the same semi-digital instrument cluster, and it will also carry over features like switchable traction control, a slip-assist clutch, dual-channel ABS, and a gear position indicator.
We can expect the upcoming cafe racer to make its global debut sometime later this year, and this motorcycle will likely not have a direct rival.
Verdict
The upcoming 400cc cafe racer from Triumph will be an interesting bid, considering that it is likely to be the first in this segment. If priced right, this motorcycle could well go on to be successful, just like its other two siblings.
