TVS Apache RTR 310 - Different Than The BMW G 310 R?
While the RTR 310 is supposed to be the same bike as the BMW G 310 R, the design of it'll be vastly different. As seen in the latest photos and also seen in the previous spy images, the bike will have a different stance. It looks bigger than its BMW sibling. While the test bike is heavily covered, the rear taillight is clearly visible. It has a unique design that we've never seen on an Apache before. Also, the number plate is uniquely positioned on the rear tyre hugger. The fuel tank is also sculpted and looks butch with extensions on it. A slight glimpse of the TFT instrument console indicates that it'll also be unique and first to any of the Apache's.
While the front profile shot is not so clear, it clearly states that the bike will get a dual-pod LED headlight. This bright light is seen in the photos also. Underneath the fuel tank, it'll get a similar powertrain as the Apache RR 310. This single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine makes a peak power of 33.5 bhp & a peak torque of 27.3 Nm. It gets a 6-speed transmission with a slipper-assist clutch which will possibly be offered on the RTR 310 as well. But, we suspect that TVS will fiddle with the tuning of the engine to adjust to the dimensional & weight changes of the naked sports bike.
Verdict
The naked sports bike segment in India has just become more exciting. Bajaj-Triumph launched their Speed 400 recently in India. It is positioned at an exciting price tag of Rs 2.33 lakh only. Hence, to compete with the increasing rivals; TVS will debut the naked 310 in India. However, the launch details of the RTR 310 are still unknown. We anticipate that it'll debut by late 2023 or early next year with a pricetag of around Rs 3 lakh.
