BMW India has updated its pocket rocket, the M2, with more power and torque, along with interior and exterior enhancements, and has launched its sole variant at Rs 1,03,00,000. 2024 BMW M2
The biggest highlight of the new BMW M2 is its power upgrade. The 3.0L twin-turbo inline-6 engine now makes 480 hp and 600 Nm of torque. This engine is now available as standard with an eight-speed M Steptronic transmission and an optional 6-speed manual, which achieves 550 Nm. This is a power upgrade of 30 hp, and the torque has also been increased. Also worth mentioning, the same engine is also seen in the BMW M340i, Z4, and M4 sold in India, but with different tunings.
BMW says the new M2 will accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.0 seconds with the automatic transmission and 4.2 seconds with the manual transmission. Additionally, it completes 0 to 200 km/h in 12.9 seconds with the AT and 13.7 seconds with the MT. Lastly, with the inclusion of the M Driver's Package, the top speed is increased to 285 km/h from 250 km/h.
2024 BMW M2 Exterior & Interior Changes
There are a lot of exterior enhancements in the 2024 BMW M2 that elevate its sporty attitude. Let's start with the logo, which now comes in black with silver surrounds, visible at both the front and rear ends. Other changes are:
- The exhaust tail pipe are now black as standard.
- Boot lid and radiator grille lettering are finished in black with silver borders.
- A slide/tilt electronic sunroof is available, but optionally.
- A new double-spoke design with silver finish in the same R 19/20 dimensions.
- The optional M lights Shadow Line offer a dark tint around the headlamps.
- Standard blue metallic finish, with an optional red finish available.
- Another optional exterior feature is M carbon roof, that adds to its aerodynamics and lower's its center of gravity.
Interior updates include, a new flat bottomed M Alcantara steering wheel. Also, BMW's curved display of 12.3 Inch digital instrument cluster and 14.9 Inch infotainment is upgraded with latest iDrive with 8.5 Operating System, which connects driver and passenger with car through touch, gesture or speech. Also, this system is self learning system which automaker calls, BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant. It adopts a driver's individual habits, proactively provides useful tips on new driving functions and seamlessly integrates smartphone apps.

Verdict
The BMW M2 is one of the rarest coupe sports cars available in India, and the option for a 6-speed manual makes it even more special.
