Volkswagen Golf GTI
The Volkswagen Golf GTI is coming to India! I have personally confirmed this news through a Volkswagen dealership based in Gurugram, Haryana. In the USA, this hot hatchback starts at $34,000, which translates to around Rs 29 lakh. However, for India, the price will be higher as it will be a CBU unit. So, expect the price to be between Rs 55 lakh and Rs 60 lakh. The launch is expected to happen in May or June.
Volkswagen Tigaun R - Line
The R-Line will be a new top-of-the-line sports variant of the Volkswagen Tiguan, featuring the same 2.0L TSI EVO engine paired with a 7-DCT gearbox. As the name suggests, the R-Line will bring several changes to both the exterior and interior, enhancing its sportier aesthetics. This will also be a CBU unit and is expected to be priced around Rs 40 lakh ex-showroom, while the other and only available variant costs Rs 35.17 lakh ex-showroom.
Volkswagen ID.4
This electric SUV debuted on Indian soil in March 2024, and it will finally be launched here. Internationally, ID.4 has been on sale for almost half a decade and won the World Car of the Year Award in 2021. Additionally, since this will be a CBU unit, the top variant with the AWD drivetrain will be offered. It uses a 77 kWh Li-ion battery pack, producing 335 hp and 536 Nm of torque. However, the base variant with a 58.0 kWh battery, sending power to only the rear wheels, could also be available.
One More ICE vehicle
There is some mystery surrounding this one, as our source mentioned that a luxury ICE vehicle will also be launched. I believe the Virtus or Taigun could receive an update, bringing more features like ADAS and larger screens. Skoda is also planning to launch the ADAS-equipped facelifts of the Kushaq and Slavia this year.

Verdict
This is one hell of a lineup, as Volkswagen is finally bringing the Golf GTI to India. However, only limited units will be sold, and in a few weeks, selected dealerships will begin the pre-booking process. Apart from that, the Virtus/Tagun will finally get ADAS. So, 2025 could be a massive year for Volkswagen India, and they might achieve their sales goals.
