Maruti is all set to launch their upcoming 5-seater SUV, Grand Vitara soon in the Indian market. Ahead of its official launch, the SUV attracts more than 45,000 bookings and the waiting period for the same sticks to 5-6 months as per the reports.
Maruti Grand Vitara will be offered a plethora of features and variants. Under the hood, the SUV carries two engine options - 1.5L mild hybrid and 1.5L strong hybrid. It is the latter that attracts 45 percent of bookings so far.
This motor is the same as the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder. The main USP is the fuel economy which sticks to 27.97 kmpl. It generates a peak power and torque of 114 bhp and 144 Nm, respectively. It gets mated to an e-CVT gearbox and offers a 2WD only.

The other engine, the 1.5L mild-hybrid is the one used in Brezza, XL6 and Ertiga too. This engine belts out 102 bhp of power with a peak torque of 136.8 Nm. It gets mated to a five-speed manual transmission as standard and a six-speed torque converter automatic as an option. This engine gets two set-ups - 2WD as standard and AWD configuration as an option.
Safety equipment on the Grand Vitara includes all-wheel disc brakes, six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, hill-descent control, rear parking sensors, 360-view camera, a high-speed alert system, front seat belt reminder and more.

We expect the Grand Vitara to be priced from Rs 9.50 lakh to Rs 16.50 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi.
