According to the reports on the internet, Kia has now discontinued the HTK+ Diesel automatic version of the Seltos and the base 'Premium' variant of the Carnival. As of now, the carmaker hasn't clarified as to why these specific variants are discontinued but we believe that this step is taken because of the low demand.
The carmaker has also asked the dealerships across India to stop taking the bookings of these particular variants from February 19, 2022. This particular HTK+ diesel automatic variant of the Seltos was priced at Rs 14.25 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi and was the most affordable diesel automatic mid-size SUV in the segment.
Mechanically, this 1.5-litre, four-cylinder, BS6 compliant motor generates 113 bhp of power on tap with a peak torque of 250 Nm. Customers who are looking for the diesel automatic version of the Seltos will now have to shell out Rs 17.95 lakh for the GTX+ and Rs 18.19 lakh for the X-Line variant.

Sharing deeds on the Carnival 'Premium' variant then it was priced at Rs 25.48 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi, making it the most affordable luxurious MPVs in the country. Now, the price of the base, Prestige 7-seater stick at Rs 29.99 lakh. This is now 4.5 lakh premium than the discontinued version.
Under the hood, Kia Carnival gets a 2.2-litre, four-cylinder, turbocharged diesel motor. This engine produces 197 bhp of power with a peak torque of 440 Nm. It is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission and the ARAI certified mileage is 13.9 kmpl.
