The 2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift is now among us and I'll not be wrong to say that it keeps the original essence of the Swift alive. The new Swift continues to be a superstar in the segment with an all-new design and some newly added features. The Swift has always been a small and light hatchback, but the new Swift redefines these terms with a significant improvement on this end. You get a combo of design, features and power at an affordable price.
Considering the price range of 6.49 lakh to 9.60 lakh (ex-showroom), it offers the best value in the segment. The game has become quite difficult for this legendary car as there are other options available in the segment such. as Citroen C3, Hyundai Exter, Grand i10 Nios and Tata Punch. If the new Swift is on somewhere on your list, this article is for you. Today, we will do an in-depth first-look review of this hatchback. Sit tight and get ready to dive deep into the details. Interior
In terms of interiors, there is no major change on the new Swift. It continues to come with the same all-black interiors with faux metal highlights. However, it carries some new elements as well, which include a layered structure on the dashboard that looks premium at first sight. Apart from this, the hatchback now features better ergonomics. The utility space has also increased as now we also get cup holders on each door. The cabin also offers a good elbow, head and leg room, so space is going to be an issue.
Features
The new Swift is loaded with features such as a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless charging pad, single-zone climate control, rear AC Vents (valuable addition), and charging ports. These feature additions position the new Swift as an affordable hatchback with premium features.
The affordable hatchback features a fully digital driver's display and an analogue unit featuring a speedometer and tachometer. However, the new Swift hatchback still misses out on a sunroof, 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, and Electronic Stability Control.
2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift: How it Feels?
The new-gen Swift sources its power from an all-new 1.2-cylinder NA three-cylinder. According to the automaker, the new unit is the most thermally efficient engine Suzuki has ever manufactured. However, the new engine is low on power figure but delivers better fuel efficiency than the previous unit.
As mentioned above, the new-gen Swift produces lower power and torque than the outgoing model. It is noteworthy that it provides a smooth ride, especially on the low and mid-rpm. In a nutshell, you are not going to feel any lack of power in the city's driving conditions. In the mid-rpm and high rpm too, it performs so well which is unbelievable with the provided mediocre level engine.
The new-gen Swift gets an improved suspension system which provides better comfort even on bumpier roads. In simple words, the improved suspension is not going to disappoint until your car hits a bad-shaped speed breaker.
Why Should You Consider?
if you want a small fuel-efficient and manoeuvrable family car, you can consider buying the new Swift. Apart from this, you get a comfortable driving experience and an excellent set of features at a reasonable price. While considering all the positives, you should also know that the new Swift lacks a premium feel inside the cabin. On the other hand, the AMT variant doesn't offer an impressive performance. Also, the cost-cutting is visible in the materials used for the dashboard and other elements of the interior.

Verdict
The 2024 Swift retains its iconic appeal with a refreshed design and enhanced features, making it a standout in its segment. Despite its affordable price and efficient engine, it falls short in premium cabin feel and performance of the AMT variant. Overall, it's ideal for those seeking a practical, feature-rich hatchback.
