Both models stand equally tall at 1520 mm and share the same wheelbase of 2450 mm, highlighting their similar foundational architecture while offering distinct profiles tailored to different styling and ergonomics. However, in terms of styling, I like Swift's design a bit more than the i10 NIOS, but this is a highly subjective topic and you might have different opinions, which is absolutely fine.
Features
Coming to the cabin, both models offer a cozy and welcoming space with a tech-laden interior. Talking first about the similarities, both hatchbacks are equipped with essential comfort and convenience features such as automatic climate control, rear AC vents, a wireless charger, and cruise control. The Grand i10 Nios goes further with the inclusion of a cooled glove box and a TPMS. For safety, both the 2024 Swift and Grand i10 Nios include standard features like 6 airbags, electronic stability control, hill hold assist, and a rear parking camera.
However, the similarities end here and the Maruti Swift, being a recent launch, zooms past the i10 NIOS with a bigger 9-inch infotainment screen with wireless smartphone connectivity, premium 6-speaker ARAKMYS sound system, and LED lighting in both the headlamp and fog lamps.

It puts out 83 PS power with a peak torque of 114 Nm, whereas in the CNG mode, this drops down to 69 PS and 95.2 Nm, a trade-off compensated by increased fuel economy. On the other hand, Maruti Swift currently offers just a 1.2 litre 3-cylinder petrol engine that puts out relatively lower figures at 82 PS and 112 Nm. However, a CNG Swift is already in the works and is expected to launch soon.

Hyundai Grand i10 NIOS | Rs 5.92 lakh to Rs 8.56 lakh |
In terms of pricing, the Hyundai Grand i10 NIOS offers a more affordable entry to owning a car with a starting price of Rs. 5.92 lakhs and also tops out early at Rs. 9.60 lakhs. Although the Maruti Swift is a pricier affair with a price range of Rs. 6.49 lakhs to Rs. 9.60 lakhs, do remember that it offers more features than its Hyundai counterpart.
Verdict
The rivalry of the mass market hatchbacks is back on the burner with the updates offered with the Maruti Swift. Being a new launch, it is obviosu that some things have been improved for an upper hand over the competition. While the i10 NIOS is currently selling in good number, you can expect Hyundai to introduce some mid-cycle updates sometime in the future to address these missing bits. But then, you still get more power and a bi-fuel option top balalnce it out.
