Design of Bajaj Freedom 125 CNG and Hero Xtreme 125R
The Bajaj Freedom 125 CNG indeed stands out with its unique design elements, resembling a miniature off-roading bike. Features like the single long seat, distinctive front-end, compact body, and high ground clearance contribute to its striking appearance. The circular LED headlights add a modern touch while maintaining a traditional aesthetic, making it a motorcycle with a never-before-seen look. This design approach could definitely make it a standout machine once it hits the roads.
The top spec NG04 Disc LED is available with five color options; Cyber White, Ebony Black, Carribean Blue, Racing Red, and Pewter Grey.
The Hero Xtreme 125R gives off a sports bike vibe at first glance, featuring shark-face LED headlights, 37 mm front fork suspension, and a sporty seating position that lends it a race-ready appeal. However, this design specifically targets young riders. It may not appeal to office-goers or individuals in their 40s seeking a more practical daily-use bike, thus making the Xtreme 125R's design somewhat polarising.
Additionally, the Xtreme 125R is available in three paint options; Cobalt Blue, Firestorm Red, and Stallion Black, and according to me, the Cobalt Blue enhances its aggresive styling.
Suspension setting
The Bajaj Freedom 125 CNG features a first-in-class mono-linked type suspension and 16-inch rear wheels aimed at enhancing road grip, ensuring a comfortable ride throughout. The wide handlebars are designed to allow everyone to sit comfortably, minimising pressure on the shoulders and palms during long rides.
The Hero Xtreme 125R features monoshock suspension and 37 mm front fork suspension developed in collaboration with Showa Corporation. These enhancements aim to improve ride quality, providing optimal balance at high speeds.

Verdict
After comparing all the specifications of these popular motorcycles, one thing is clear: both bikes cater to the same audience in the 125cc motorcycle segment but with different approaches. The Bajaj Freedom introduces a fresh concept in motorcycles, focusing on cost-saving with its hybrid technology, which is likely to inspire similar innovations from other manufacturers in the future.
However, on paper, the Hero Xtreme 125R stands out. Priced almost Rs 10,000 lower than the Freedom, it offers more power, single-channel ABS, aggressive design, and disc brakes as standard features. Additionally, it boasts a larger fuel tank capacity of 10 liters. With a fuel efficiency of 66 kmpl, this translates to an approximate range of 660 km on a full tank, which is double the range of the Freedom 125 CNG. So in this scenario, this is win-win sitaution for the Hero Xtreme 125R.
