The Mercede-Benz EQA is launched in a single variant called the EQA 250+. On the other hand, the BMW iX1 in India also comes in a single variant called the iX1 xDrive 30.

The newly launched Mercedes-Benz EQA is the electric iteration of the GLA SUV and it gets a similar design language. The EQA boasts some EV-specific changes, it gets a closed front grille with 3-star elements on it, connected LED DRLs, and LED headlamps, and an updated bumper design with air vents at the front for better air intake for the battery pack cooling. The side profile gets a new design for the alloy wheels and the rear also gets a connected LED tail lamp similar to the EQB.

If we talk about the design of the BMW iX1, is the electric iteration of the BMW X1 SUV and boasts a similar design layout with some EV-specific changes. The front profile gets a similar layout as the ICE version, it gets signature BMW styling with a slatted grille, 18-inch M light alloy wheels, squared-off wheel arches, a sloping roofline, and L-shaped LED tail lamps at the rear.

In terms of dimensions, the BMW iX1 holds an edge over the EQA with more length and height, along with a 150-litre larger boot space. The Mercedes-Benz EQA on the other hand has a slightly longer wheelbase which is longer by 37 mm.

The interior of both EVs speaks about luxury and an abundance of features. Starting with the Mercedes-Benz EQA, it gets a dual-zone climate control, a 10.7-inch touchscreen infotainment and a similar sized instrument cluster, ambient lighting, 12 speaker Burmester music system, head-up display, electrically adjustable front seats with memory function, a panoramic sunroof, MBUX operating system with navigation support, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, among other features. The BMW iX1 comes with a more minimalistic interior layout with its flat AC vents and a curved display adorning the dashboard. The electric SUV comes with dual-zone climate control, a curved connected display with 10.25-inch instrument cluster and a 10.7-inch infotainment display, 12-speaker Harman Kardon music system, a panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, powered front seats, among other features. The safety features of the iX1 consists 8-airbags, ADAS, reverse parking camera, TPMS, ISOFIX among other features.

Mercedes-Benz EQA Vs BMW iX1 - Powertrain

The Mercedes-Benz EQA is available in a single variant which comes with a 70.5 kWh battery pack and range of 497-560 km on a single charge. On the other hand the BMW iX1 comes with a 66.4 kWh battery pack and a claimed range of 417-440 km on a single charge. The detailed specifications are given below.

If we look at the numbers, the BMW iX1 comes with a smaller battery pack but offers 90 kW more power and 109 Nm more torque as compared to the Mercedes-Benz EQA. Also, the BMW iX1 boasts higher top speed and quick acceleration along with quick charging time for both DC & AC charging.
