Triumph Motorcycles India recently launched the all-new Speed T4 as their most affordable motorcycle in India. The Speed T4 is available in a single variant which is priced at Rs. 2.17 lakh (ex-showroom). The Speed T4's engine comes with a new state of tune to help it deliver better performance at low and mid-range RPMs like the Royal Enfield motorcycles. With the introduction of the Speed T4, Triumph is essentially aiming to attract Royal Enfield buyers who need a classic yet modern machine to manoeuvre in the city traffic.
The all-new Triumph Speed T4 directly rivals the Royal Enfield Hunter 350. Today in this article, I'll be talking about the key features of the all-new Speed T4. Before moving ahead, consider joining our 91Wheels WhatsApp Community to stay updated on the latest automotive news.

Engine and Performance
The Triumph Speed T4 sources its power from a 398.15cc liquid-cooled engine with a new state-of-tune. The retuned engine delivers better performance at low and mid-range RPMs but cuts 9 PS of power and 1.5 Nm of torque when compared to the Speed 400. The Speed T4 generates a maximum power output of 31 PS and a peak torque of 36 Nm. Triumph claims that the new state of tune helps Speed T4 deliver 85 per cent of its power at just 5,500 rpm.
My opinion: It was a wise decision from Triumph to use the same unit on offer with the Speed 400. The new state of tune makes the city riding experience easy by delivering a good initial torque.
Hardware
As for the hardware, the Speed T4 features telescopic front forks and a mono-shock absorber at the rear. Braking duties are handled by a 300mm disc (front) and a 230mm disc at the rear with dual-channel ABS. The Speed T4 rides on 17-inch alloy wheels covered with 110/70-17 front tyres and 140/70-17 rear tyres. The overall hardware setup prioritises durability and endurance simultaneously providing a comfortable riding experience.
My opinion: Considering the competition, the Speed T4 gets a similar hardware setup offered in the segment. The Hunter 350 also gets telescopic front forks instead of the USD forks.
Technology and Features
Speaking of the tech, the Triumph Speed T4 is not so high on tech motorcycle as it offers basic features such as an analogue speedometer with a digital cluster that shows essential readouts like the tachometer, odometer, trip meter and others. Additionally, the Speed T4 features LED lighting and a USB charging port for smartphones.
My opinion: In terms of features, the Speed T4 offers a good value. Though it so a hi-tech feature-loaded machine, you get all the necessary features that you need for a convenient riding experience.
Design and Comfort
The overall design language of the Speed T4 remains the same as the Speed 400. It features a round LED headlight, single-piece saddle, alloy wheels, sculpted fuel tank and tail lamp. Even the semi-digital instrument console looks identical to the unit on offer with the Speed 400. The Speed T4 is available in three colour options- Metallic White, Cocktail Red Wine and Phantom Black.
My Opinion: The all-new Speed T4 design and ergonomics provide a comfortable riding experience. It offers an upright riding posture which is well suited for long commutes. Overall, it is an easy-to-handle and agile motorcycle.

The Triumph Speed T4 offers a solid balance of performance, design, and practicality. Its retuned 398.15cc engine, basic yet functional features, and comfortable ergonomics make it ideal for urban riding. While it may not be tech-heavy, it excels in delivering a reliable and enjoyable ride. For its price, it's a strong contender in the 350-400cc segment.
