TVS Jupiter 125 Key Features
Digital / Semi-digital Instrument Cluster
The Jupiter 125 is available in three different variants; drum alloy, disc, and SmartXonnect. While the lower two variants come with a semi-digital instrument cluster as standard, the SmartXonnect gets a fully-digital TFT display that's also seen on the Ntorq XT. which can be connected to your smartphone via the TVS Connect App.
Competitor Check: The Suzuki Access offers a semi-digital cluster in its base variant, while the mid-spec variant and onwards receive all-digital units. Meanwhile the Activa 125 makes do with a semi-digital unit throughout.
Connectivity Features
The SmartXonnect variant receives things such as turn-by-turn navigation with voice-assist, a follow-me headlamp, call/SMS alerts, social media notifications, news/weather updates, cricket scores, distance-to-empty and average fuel economy readout.
While weather updates, call and SMS alerts can be fine, things like cricket scores and social media notifications can prove to be a hazard, and shall absolutely not be used while on the go.
Meanwhile the drum alloy variant offers side-stand alert, a start-stop system, combi-braking, a pass-light switch, and a fuel-economy readout, and the disc variant adds a USB charging socket.
Competitor Check: The Access 125 misses out on voice commands and other extra bits. However, navigation works well enough once connected. Meanwhile the Activa 125 get no navigation, but instead you get a remote key system and a vehicle finder.

Adjustable Rear Suspension
The Jupiter 125 is one of the few scooters to offer adjustable suspension as standard. Even from the base drum alloy variant, you can adjust the rear monoshock for pre-load, upto three settings.
Competitor Check: None of the other scooters in this segment receive adjustable suspension.
Front Fuel Filling
Remember the last time scooter with a front external filler? The Jupiter 125 has brought that concept back, with its fuel tank located under the floorboard. You get a lockable external fuel filler which can be operated via the multi-function key slot.
Competitor Check: The Access 125 and the Activa 125 make do with a rear external unit that still requires you to get off the seat.
33-litres Of Underseat Storage Space
With the fuel tank moved under the floorboard, the underseat storage space now has a capacity of 33-litres, which is more than enough for daily usage, and it can easily store two half-faced helmets in there.
Do note that full-face helmets will be difficult to accomodate, and motocross-style helmets just won't fit in there. Otherwise, there is more than enough space to fit your daily needs.
And if, by any chance, you use up all that space, there is a 2-litre open glovebox in the front for your knick-knacks, along with a retractable hook for your bags to be kept on the floorboard.
Competitor Check: The Access 125 makes do with a 21.8-litre underseat compartment.
Diamond-cut Alloy Rims
The Jupiter 125 gets a 12-inch wheel setup on both ends, and while all three variants receive alloy rims, the disc and the SmartXonnect variant specifically receive diamond-cut alloys.
Competitor Check: The Access 125 also receives alloys on all variants, while the Activa 125 offers a base drum variant without alloys.
Verdict
The TVS Jupiter 125 is a solid contender in the 125cc family scooter category. It is mainly focused on comfort and practicality, and it absolutely nails those parts. It also rides smoothly and offers great performance in the city. The SmartXonnect variant offers a nicer TFT screen, but the connectivity experience can be a little flawed, and some of the features are overkill.
