The fifth-gen Honda City is the most awaited C-segment sedan in the country right now and the carmaker has opened the bookings for the 2020 model. The bookings for the 2020 City can be done via dealerships or digital sales platform, 'Honda From Home'. If you are looking to book this sedan then via online you need to make Rs 5,000 as payment while from dealerships they are asking for Rs 21,000.
We expect that the sedan is expected to launch soon in the Indian markets as the bookings have already started. This new City packs in an improved form of petrol and diesel mills. Apart from the mechanicals, the new City also gets heavily updated design and features loaded up to the brim.
The design of the new City resembles the fusion between Amaze and Civic. The full LED headlights at the front and the wraparound Z-shaped LED taillights gives the City a very tasteful design. Honda also claims that the new City is the longest and widest in its segment.

Under the hood, the 2020 Honda City packs in a new DOHC 1.5L petrol engine along with the same old 1.5L diesel engine but with improved NVH levels. The power in the petrol is tweaked up a little. The petrol now gets a 6-speed manual as opposed to the 5-speed unit found before. It continues with an optional CVT gearbox.
Coming to the oil burner then it churns out a similar 99 bhp with a 6-speed manual gearbox. The peak torque sticks to 200 Nm. This one will surely get a higher ARAI certified fuel economy when compared with petrol. The 6-speed manual petrol delivers 17.8 km/l while the CVT returns 18.4 km/l.
Some of the features of the 2020 Honda City include 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with modern connectivity features like Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Alexa. It also gets a one-touch electric sunroof, Honda Connect system with 32 connected features, engine start/stop, hands-free boot release and among others.

The prices of the 2020 Honda are not yet disclosed but we expected it to stick between Rs 11 lakh and between Rs 15 lakh. It will compete with the likes of new Hyundai Verna, Maruti Ciaz, Skoda Rapid, Volkswagen Vento and Toyota Yaris.
