2020 KTM 250 Adventure BS6 Launched in India; Priced at Rs 2.48 Lakhs - All Details [Video]

The adventure motorcycles have become really very popular in the Indian market in recent times. A lot of two-wheeler manufacturers are launching their all-new products in this segment. KTM India ventured into the small-displacement adventure sports category earlier this year with the launch of the KTM 390 Adventure. The KTM 390 Adventure was an instant hit and so buoyed by the phenomenal response of the 390 ADV, the company has now launched its new quarter-litre adventure motorcycle. The price of the new 2020 KTM 250 Adventure BS6 starts at Rs. 2.48 lakhs, Ex-showroom Delhi.

In terms of looks, the KTM 250 Adventure resembles its elder sibling - the 390 Adventure to a great extent but there are some evident changes. For starters, while the 390 ADV gets an all-LED headlight, the new KTM 250 ADV only gets daytime-running LEDs along with a halogen headlamp. However, the turn indicators and taillamp are still LED units and it gets a small fly-screen too. The 250 ADV is also slightly smaller in dimensions compared to the 390 ADV. The exact length, width and height of the motorcycle has not been revealed but the wheelbase stands the same at 1357 mm. The new 250 ADV also gets an 855 mm seat height and a 200 mm ground clearance.

The dry weight of the new KTM 250 Adventure is 156 kilograms and it gets a 14.5-litre fuel tank. Talking about the heart of the matter, the new KTM 250 Adventure gets the same mill that also powers the Duke 250. It is powered by a BS6-compliant 248.8cc, single-cylinder, fuel-injected engine. This motor churns out around 30 PS of power at 9000 RPM and 24 Nm of peak torque at 7250 RPM. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. The new motorcycle also gets a technologically advanced Power Assist Slipper Clutch (PASC). This allows for a smooth and jerk-free clutch-less down-shifting. It will deliver a decent mileage of around 30-35 kmpl in real-world conditions.

Talking about some other hardware components, the new 250 Adventure gets new MRF Mogrip Meteor-FM2 tubeless tyres with alloy wheels. The front tyre of the motorcycle measures 110/70-19 while the rear one is a 150/60-section 17-inch unit. The suspension duties are handled by a set of WP APEX shockers. At the front, it gets 43 mm upside-down (USD) forks with 170 mm travel and at the rear, it gets a pre-load adjustable mono-shock absorber with 177 mm of travel. For braking duties, it gets a 320 mm disc at the front and a 230 mm disc at the rear along with dual-channel ABS and KTM's off-road mode. It also gets an all-new 5.0-inch LCD display that displays a ton of information but misses out on smartphone connectivity.

Finally, talking about the price, the price of the brand new 2020 KTM 250 Adventure BS6 starts at Rs. 2.48 lakhs, Ex-showroom Delhi. At this price, it is around 57,000 rupees affordable than the 390 Adventure but around 40,000 rupees dearer than the KTM Duke 250. It will indirectly rival against the Royal Enfield Himalayan, KTM Duke 250, KTM 390 ADV and the new BMW G310 R BS6. KTM is also offering a whole bunch of accessories for the new 250 ADV.
