Original Article - September 29, 2020; The Austrian Two-wheeler manufacturer - KTM made its India debut in the year 2012 with the KTM Duke 390. The Duke 390 was an instant hit in India and since then KTM motorcycles are known to offer great products at very accessible prices in the Indian market. It was 2014 when KTM first launched the RC 200 in India and again, it was a blockbuster hit. Over the years, the RC 200 has received several minor updates. Now, fast forward to 2020 and we have the BS6-compliant RC 200. The new RC 200 BS6 gets environment-friendly mechanicals and new colour schemes. So, today we have for you the First Look Review of the new 2020 KTM RC 200 BS6.
KTM RC 200 BS6: Looks and Colour Options
KTM's RC Series motorcycles look drop-dead gorgeous. They have a very aggressive stance and at the same time, they look very sporty. At the front, the RC 200 gets twin projector headlamps with winglets-type design. The motorcycle also gets a short visor and sharp cycle parts. Moving to the side, one can see that the fully-faired RC looks very sporty. It gets a triple-tone treatment on the body and the alloy wheels are finished in KTM's signature orange colour. The exposed trellis frame of the motorcycle also looks cool and at the rear, it gets a sharp styling. Overall, the RC 200 looks very sporty and it has an aerodynamic design language. The new KTM RC 200 BS6 is available in two colour options - Dark Galvano and Electric Orange.

KTM RC 200 BS6: Engine, Transmission and Mileage
The new 2020 KTM RC 200 is powered by a BS6-compliant 199.5cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected engine. This motor churns out 25 PS of maximum power at 10000 RPM and 19.5 Nm of peak torque at 8000 RPM. The RC 200 is the most powerful motorcycle in its class and it comes mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. Being a fully-faired supersport motorcycle, the RC 200 boasts of sharp and agile handling. Then, talking about fuel-efficiency, it will deliver around 32-37 kmpl in real-world conditions.

KTM RC 200 BS6: Tyres, Brakes and Features
The KTM RC 200 is based on a steel trellis frame. The suspension duties are performed by 43 mm WP APEX upside-down (USD) forks at the front with 125 mm travel and a mono-shock absorber at the rear with 150 mm travel. For braking duties, it gets disc brakes at both the ends. At the front, it gets a 300 mm disc while at the rear, it gets a 230 mm disc unit. However, it gets a single-channel ABS only. The RC 200 runs on 17-inch tubeless tyres. The front tyre measures 110/70-17 while the rear one is a 150/60 section 17-inch unit. The motorcycle also gets an all-digital instrument cluster loaded with a ton of information.
KTM RC 200 BS6: Price, Rivals and Verdict
The new 2020 KTM RC 200 BS6 is priced at Rs. 2 lakhs, Ex-showroom Delhi. At this price point, it rivals against the Bajaj Pulsar RS 200, Yamaha R15 V3, Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 and some naked streetfighters and the retro cruisers. Talking about the verdict, so if you want a stylish fully-faired motorcycle loaded with a ton of features and one which offers insane performance, then you should definitely consider buying the new KTM RC 200 BS6. The RC 200 can be also termed as the most well-balanced RC in India as it slots between the RC 125 and the RC 390 and offers a great mixture of both!
