The Royal Enfield Classic 350 is the second most affordable motorcycle in the company's India line-up. It slots in above the Bullet 350 and sits below the Himalayan 400 in the RE's Indian portfolio. The Classic 350 is the most popular Royal Enfield Motorcycle in the country and also it is the company's best-selling product. On an average, more than 40,000 Royal Enfield Classic 350's are sold in India every month. Thus, to expand the Classic family and to boost its sales, the company will be soon introducing the Classic 650. The upcoming all-new 2021 Royal Enfield Classic 650 will most likely borrow its powerplant and share its underpinnings with the Interceptor 650 and the Continental 650. RE is working on several new products on this platform.

If you remember just a few weeks ago, RE's upcoming 650cc Cruiser was also spied on test in India. The upcoming 650cc Cruiser from Royal Enfield might be known as the Thunderbird 650 in its production guise. Both these upcoming REs will be sharing the platform and powertrain with each other. However, one can easily distinguish between them as the 650cc cruiser has a relaxed sitting posture with a low seat height, forward-set footpegs, etc. The test mule of the upcoming Classic 650, on the other hand, has flat split seat set-up, an upright riding posture and new alloy wheels. The upcoming RE Classic 650 will share its hardware too with the RE's 650cc Twins. But, it will get some new features including RE's new Tripper navigation system.

The upcoming 2021 Royal Enfield Classic 650 will be most likely powered by a BS6-compliant 648cc, parallel-twin, air-cooled, fuel-injected engine. This is the same mill that also powers the RE Interceptor 650 and the Continental GT 650. This motor will churn out around 47.65 PS of maximum power at 7250 RPM and 52 Nm of peak torque at 5250 RPM. The engine will come mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox and it might get a slipper clutch too. The new RE Classic 650 is expected to be launched by the end of this year.
