2022 Hero Xtreme 160R has launched in India starting from Rs 1,17,148. We guide you through the top 5 highlights of the new bike.
Hero MotoCorp has launched its latest offering in the premium commuter bike segment. The 2022 Hero Xtreme 160R is here with new updates to make it more value for money than before. Starting from an exaggerating price of Rs 1,17,148 ex-showroom, the new Xtreme 160R has a list of updates. So, today we take you through a total of 5 top highlights of the newly launched Xtreme 160R.
Reworked Instrument Cluster
The previous Xtreme offered a fully digital instrument LCD panel. Well, the same remains on the new bike as well. What Hero has done is that it has now added a gear position indicator to this LCD panel. This means that the rider can easily get notified via looking at the screen about the gear in which he/she is riding the bike. Apart from this, the other features like the tachometer, speedometer, trip meter, etc., remain unchanged.
While the addition of a gear position indicator is welcome, we really wished that Hero would've offered its Xtech technology on the new Xtreme. The lack of Bluetooth connectivity is a big downer as the rivals offer it.
2022 Hero Xtreme 160R Price
Prices of the new Xtreme 160R are surely another highlight to add to the list. Hero offers some of the best value for money products in the market. The new 2022 Xtreme is no exception either. Hero is offering it in 3 variants - Single Disc, Dual Disc, & Stealth. Price of these are as follows:
- Hero Xtreme Single Disc - Rs 1,17,148
- Hero Xtreme Dual Disc - Rs 1,20,498
- Hero Xtreme Stealth - Rs 1,22,338
Hardware
In terms of design, the new Xtreme 160R mimics the older bike completely. The sharp dual-barrel LED headlight, sculpted fuel tank, upright-set riding posture, and comfortable seating are the main highlights of this design. The new updated bike also retains these along with a slight modification. Hero has added new pillion grab rails that are now external units unlike the panel-fitted ones on the outgoing model.
Apart from this, the overall design is the same on the bike. Braking is done by a single petal disc brake at the front and a drum brake at the rear for the Single Disc variant. The Dual Disc & Stealth variant offers the rear disc brake as well.
Design & Colour Options
The bike retains its design philosophy from the outgoing model. There are no visible changes to the new updated bike except for the addition of new grab rails. Also, the colour options include 3 paint shades - Pearl Silver White, Vibrant Blue, & Sports Red.
Speaking of the colours, the Stealth is a new paint scheme that has been added with the updated bike. It only comes with a single option of paint. It offers a grey and black contrast paint shade. The grey panels are painted in a matt shade to offer a more rugged look to the new Xtreme.
Engine & Specifications
Meanwhile, the engine of the new Xtreme 160R remains unchanged. It continues using the same reliable and fuel-efficient 163cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled powerhouse. This unit is capable of churning out a peak power of 15 hp and 14 Nm of peak torque as well. The low-end and mid-range torque curve of the Xtreme allows it easily maneuver through the city traffic. It can easily keep up with the pace of city traffic even with a pillion or luggage.
The main rivals of the Xtreme 160R in India are - Bajaj Pulsar N160 & TVS Apache RTR 160 4V.
