The 2022 Jeep Compass Trailhawk keeps the same 2.0-litre Multijet II diesel engine that produces 168 bhp and 350 Nm of peak torque. The engine is paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission, which the brand claims to be best in the segment. The new 'Rock' option in the Select Terrain off-road system, as well as a low ratio mode for the torque converter transmission, are exclusive to the Trailhawk variant. The other modes in the Trailhawk include Snow, Sand, and Mud in which the performance of the engine and gearbox changes accordingly.
Changes for better off-roading
With the redesigned bumpers and increased ground clearance for better off-road angles, all-terrain tyres are available for added traction in more difficult situations. In comparison to the Jeep Compass, the model's higher suspension allows it to wade in water up to 19 inches deep, making it perfect for off-roading. The SUV has 225/65R17 all-season tyres that provide improved grip on a range of terrain. A Crawl Ratio of 20:1, a Ramp Travel Index of 321, a Turning Radius of 5.7m, a Jeep Select-Terrain system with five driving modes, a frequency-damped suspension, and more add to the Jeep Compass - Trailhawk's off-road capabilities.
