Jeep India is all set to launch its flagship SUV, the 2022 Grand Cherokee on November 11. This SUV will be Jeep India's fourth locally assembled product after Compass, Meridian and Wrangler. In this article, we share everything you need to know about this upcoming SUV.
Mechanically, we expect a single 2.0L turbocharged petrol motor to be available with the Grand Cherokee. As of now, the power and peak torque figures are not yet out but we do know that this engine will be paired to an 8-speed automatic transmission as standard. It will also get selectable terrain modes like - Sport, Auto, Mud and Snow.
Feature-wise, do expect it to get a larger touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless charging, a panoramic sunroof, a head-up display, ventilated front seats, a powered tailgate, a 19-speaker McIntosh sound system and more.

On the safety front, the Grand Cherokee is fully packed. Firstly, it will be offered with ADAS (advanced driver assistance system) tech. The features of this include forward collision avoidance, adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, lane departure assist and more.
Other safety features include ABS with EBD, multiple airbags, electronic stability control, traction control, front and rear parking sensors, tyre pressure monitoring system, hill hold control, hill descent control, speed sensing door locks and more.

We expect Jeep Grand Cherokee to be offered in two variants and expect the prices for the same to start from Rs 85 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. Once launched, the Grand Cherokee will rival Audi Q7, Mercedes-Benz GLE and BMW X5.
Verdict
We believe that with the right prices, Jeep can surely give its rivals a tough competition. Also, the new-age Grand Cherokee is rich in features and safety. On the design front too, it retains the classic Jeep silhouette and looks good.
