Zontes 350T ADV vs Himalayan - Design & Features
Royal Enfield Himalayan
The Himalayan is present in the Indian market for a long time now. Its design needs no introduction. It has been based on a retro-ADV concept and it has worked like a charm for Royal Enfield. Over time, the Himalayan have seen very few changes. However, a new Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 is on its way. Meanwhile, the current bike comprises of simplistic ADV design with retro appeal.
The round headlight, raised front, little beak, adjustable windscreen, etc. are its main design elements. However, in terms of features, it has a decent list. The taillight is LED, and a semi-digital instrument panel and optional tripper navigation are being offered by RE. It also comes with a top box and pannier mounts.
Zontes 350T ADV
Contrary to the retro appeal, Zontes ADV is comprised of a modern ADV design. Additionally, it looks big and bulky with loads of tech on offer. The front design resembles bike premium ADVs. It has LED lighting all around. Meanwhile, features like a big windscreen (adjustable), digital instrument panel, riding modes, USB phone charging, etc. are also on offer.
The design of Zontes is going to appeal more to a young audience. Somewhere, somehow, this design is in lieu of the KTM Adventure 390; of which it is also a direct rival. The rear has a top box and pannier mounts meaning easy access for touring luggage. The most prominent design element is the LED headlight with a unique smiling-face layout. A long beak completes the mean looks of this butch ADV.

Speaking of the engine and specifications, it is the Zontes that looks ahead on paper. It has a more advanced engine of 348cc liquid-cooling. It even makes more power i.e. 38 bhp. Additionally, the low kerb weight of just 168 kg means that it has a clear advantage in terms of performance over its rivals like the Himalayan. However, the high-set seat and the smaller front tyre mean that Zontes will require more struggle to operate in off-road conditions.
Contrary, the Himalayan has equivalent torque and a bigger front wheel. Additionally, the low seat height means that it's supposed to be more agile in slush, etc. However, the 5-speed gearbox and lack of slipper-assist clutch mean that the highway performance of Zontes is going to be better. Meanwhile, the 350T ADV also gets an adjustable bigger windscreen.
